Check Engine Lights

A check engine light comes on when an issue occurs, when this happens you should take your car to the dealership or mechanic. There are a few other lights you should know that can turn on.

  1. There is the oil light, this can indicate one of two things potentially. The first thing is that it could mean your vehicle needs an oil change. The second thing it can indicate is that the engine’s oil pressure has dropped. This means the engine is in danger of getting damaged due to the lack of lubrication to help it run properly. Worst case it could overheat and catch fire, luckily the odds of that happening are very slim. Depending on the car the lights for oil change and oil warning light may be separate symbols, so just be aware if your car is like that. Make sure to regularly check your oil and change when needed.

2. Temperature warning light, this is necessary to help your engine maintain a steady temperature. If the car overheats this can cause many other problems. Make sure to monitor the levels of coolant in your car.

3. Low tire pressure

4. Low windshield wiper fluid

  • All dash boards come with their own indicator and warning light. The higher the severity of the problem will be either orange or red.
